The award is decided by Practical Pre-School product testers, who said of "That's not my puppy": "This book had immediate appeal for all the children. It is great for a wide age range as the babies enjoy the pictures and textures and the older children enjoy reading the words themselves and developing their vocabulary. It was also good for raising awareness of differences and similarities. It retained appeal for the children throughout the testing period."

Thats not my books
As a parent of an 8 month old boy, I have yet to find anything like these books. Fantastic. My son has Down's syndrome - his development has been fantastic, which I truly believe these books have had a great help with.

A simple idea that has stretched to all kinds of themes. Chunky boardbooks with textured pages take a child through a simple narrative: “That's not my dinosaur/teddy/dolly/tractor”. And on each page there's a reason why not - like bumpy skin, shiny hair ties, squashy wheels, until eventually we arrive at the right item. As well as the touchy-feely experience, the basic vocabulary repetition is a valuable - and enjoyable - early learning tool.

Little man has a little basket full of books but none have yet grabbed his attention like this book, which I must say is because it is a touchy feely book. The pages are very clear and bright. P has just started to learn how to read and loves that she can read most of the words in the book to her brother. The book is great for getting you in the Christmas mood and would again make a great stocking filler. Through out the story you search for the author’s donkey on each page they point out different features on the donkey like their blanket, ears, hooves and how they are not quite right.
